there are a lot of myths about lilies which I loved to read as a child. One of my favorites was the Greek myth of Hera and Zeus which says that lelies are associated with rebirth and motherhood. In the Chinese myth, they say that lilies are used in weddings because they are tied to 100 years of love and are also tied to good luck.

Lily roots and bulbs have been used for medicinal purposes. Some made tea of the flower to treat stomach disorders, fevers, and assist women in labor. They have also been used topically to treat sores and burns.
