poverty fosters distrust of the government or any governing bodies. Many policies created that were supposed to help people living under poverty, ended up seen as ineffective and demeaning.

I agree with this statement, the government sets a system for the people but lacks the action and service towards their people, that's why even though there are a lot of programs for the less fortunate people, the availability and accessibility provided aren't enough to help everyone that's struggling.
