As a newcomer myself of about a month, this is all great advice. I'll share one struggle that's baked into Hive - being new, and with resource credit rules, you can do very little. Every single action, like this reply, cuts back on possible activity. Someone who started today would do a few things (maybe tweak their profile), then almost immediately get totally shut down, wonder what happened, then give up and leave the chain either frustrated or confused as to what happened. It's hard to build when you can't do anything.
