For the past few days I've been trying to do all kind of things to get out of a state of constant boredom that just doesn't seem to want to go away. I've been reading, I've been playing games, talking with people, playing DND, working, watching new things on Netflix, the list can go on.

While doing some of those activities I got ideas for possible articles that seemed quite interesting to me at that moment. I even felt the desire to begin writing those articles quite a few times, but I didn't act on that desire. I didn't because once I begin to do something I like to focus on it until I'm done, unless it's something very boring or unless something really urgent needs my attention.

I learned my lesson from my mistake in the past and I wrote all those ideas down to make sure I would not forget them again. However, even that didn't really help me. The problem was that at the moment in which I got the idea, I also got several others about what to add to the article. It wasn't anything too specific, or something that I couldn't think of at a later date. That made me ignore my desire to write at that particular moment and just be satisfied with saving the idea.

The problem with my attitude was that later, when I actually needed to write one of those articles I found it fairly difficult to have both the desire to write that I had before and the same ideas for the article that I had at that particular moment.

Both of these things made writing quite frustrating. Dealing with my lack of desire to write at that time wasn't such a big deal, since I'm used to it, but it was fairly frustrating to end up with an article that I didn't considered to be as good as what I had in mind initially.

This happened to me many times in the past, for different reasons, and it always ended up bothering me. Sure, it's not always the best thing to stop whatever you're doing and to begin writing because you thought of a good article. But it's also not great to just ignore your desire to write and leave it for later, just to find yourself unable to recall everything you wanted to write initially.

In order to solve this problem, I began writing my ideas down plus a few extra paragraphs detailing the main points of the articles that I wanted to write about. Instead of hesitating and not switching tasks, I would take a five minutes break and just write about what I had in mind. Then I would go back to my original task.

This made the problem almost disappear, and it ended up making the entire writing process much easier. Not only did I have an idea for an article, but I also had many points that I could write about, which helped me finish my work faster. This in turn resulted in less stress and more work being done overall.

So here's a tip if you're a writer - don't hesitate to write. You don't have to finish an entire article as soon as you get an idea, but taking a break from whatever you're doing and putting what's on your mind on paper could help you later when you'll have to actually complete writing an article.
