Assalam o Alaikum everyone. How are you all? I hope you are doing well. Alhamdulillah, I am also doing well.Today I want to share one of my art projects with you. As I have mentioned before, I really enjoy sketching and drawing. Whenever I get some free time, I love sitting down with my pencils and creating something. This time, I thought of drawing a beautiful mountain landscape because I really love mountainous areas. I especially love the way mountains look at night. There is something very peaceful and beautiful about a mountain landscape during a cold winter night. I wanted to share those feelings through my art, so I decided to make this winter mountain scene.I want to mention that I got the basic idea for this sketch from Pinterest. I saw the picture and thought, “I think I can make something similar myself.” So I decided to give it a try and share my own drawing with all of you.
I start
To start the drawing, the first thing I did was make a very light pencil sketch. I always prefer starting with a light outline because if I make a mistake, I can easily erase it and correct it.I started with the mountains. I made some tall mountains using a very light hand and then added a few smaller mountains around them. After that, I started drawing the trees around the mountains.I wanted the trees to look dry and without leaves because I wanted to show the feeling of winter in this artwork. During winter, the trees can look completely bare, and I really liked that look for this scene. I think the leafless trees make the whole landscape feel more like a cold winter night.
After the mountains and trees, I added a beautiful stone bridge. I really like old-style bridges made with stones, so I decided to add one to my landscape. I drew small stone shapes across the bridge to give it a realistic stone texture.
Then I added a beautiful crescent moon in the sky. You can also see some snow around the mountains and behind the trees. These little details were important to me because I wanted the drawing to give the feeling of a quiet, cold winter night.Once I was happy with my pencil sketch, I started working on the outlines. I used a black marker to outline the mountains and make their shapes more visible. After that, I added some light pencil shading to the mountains. I tried to create different shades because real mountains also have areas of light and shadow, and I wanted my drawing to have a more natural look.
For the trees, I decided to use brown because the branches and trunks naturally have that kind of color. First, I outlined the trees with a brown marker, and then I filled the inside of the trunks and branches with brown as well. For the rest of the landscape, I decided not to use too many colors. I actually liked the simple pencil-shaded look because I felt that adding too many colors would take away from the feeling of a night scene. I wanted the drawing to remain soft and calm, so I mostly used a black pencil for the shading.
One little trick I used was a cotton pad. It is actually one of the cotton pads I normally use for removing my makeup! I used it to gently blend the pencil shading in some areas. It makes the shading look softer and smoother and gives the drawing a really nice effect.
I really enjoyed making this sketch because it allowed me to express my love for mountains, winter and peaceful night scenes in my own little way.
I hope you enjoyed seeing my drawing and the process behind it. Please tell me in the comments how you liked my mountain landscape sketch. I would love to know your thoughts!
