I want to start by saying that if it is hard for you to do study exercises, I recommend to take it to the execution of images that you like and as for me there is no more precious thing than Max from Stranger Things, I turned what I wanted to practice from the beginning to something that I liked to represent. It took me a while to see references where his skin showed a lot of variety of shades and I found this one that in my opinion meets the requirement, so let's go.
Quiero empezar por decir que si te cuesta hacer ejercicios de estudio, recomiendo llevarlo a que sea atreves de la ejecución de imágenes que te agraden y como para mí no hay cosita más preciosa que Max de Stranger Things, pues volqué lo que quería practicar desde un principio a algo que me generara gusto representar. Tarde un rato viendo referencias donde su piel mostrase mucha variedad de tonalidades y di con esta que a mi parecer cumple el requisito, así que vámonos.

This time I do want to remember (that's what the exercise is for) the place of the stain, because from there I was sculpting by layers, method that I try to polish recently, until this point I went by copying the reference by eye, but without fear of maybe staining too much, this process is trial and error, but in the most present moment possible, is to fix your mistake from the moment one, I will also apply this method more often in my life to see if my colors look cooler. :3
Esta vez si quiero acordarme (Para eso es el ejercicio) del lugar de la mancha, pues desde ahí fui esculpiendo por capas, método que trato de pulir recientemente, hasta este punto me fui por el copiar a ojo la referencia, pero sin miedo a quizás manchar demás, este proceso es ensayo y error, pero en el momento más presente posible, es arreglar tu error desde el momento uno, también voy a aplicar este método más seguido en mi vida a ver si se ven más chidos mis colores. :3

This part lies in darkening a little the right parts to make the character come to life and avoid the flatness, although I try to put rigor to capture the character as best as possible, there are always certain inconsistencies with the reference, things like for example that although I manage to represent his gestures well, the size of the head was in a proportion a little smaller than the reference, I mean, it's something that doesn't avoid that it still looks like the person in the photo, but if you detail it well it gives another perspective almost different from the image, but as I said what really matters to me in this exercise is the tonality in light skin, so it doesn't mortify me so much, being aware of things like this is vital when doing exercises or studies.
Esta parte radico en oscurecer un poco las partes adecuadas para que el personaje tome vida y evitar lo plano, aunque trate de ponerle rigurosidad a captar lo mejor posible al personaje, siempre aparecen ciertas incongruencias con la referencia, cosas como por ejemplo que aunque logre representar bien sus gestos el tamaño de la cabeza quedo en una proporción un poco más pequeña que la referencia, digo, es algo que no evita que siga pareciendo la persona de la foto, pero que si lo detallas bien le da otra perspectiva casi diferente a la de la imagen, pero como dije lo que realmente me importa de este ejercicio es la tonalidad en piel clara, así que no me mortifica tanto, tener conciencia de cosas como esta es vital cuando se hacen ejercicios o estudios.

I certainly gave some personality to the background to give some language to the work, looking at the color palette I used I realized that maybe I didn't want it to look so warm, so I switched to using the total correction in the tone curve of Clip Studio, just to play with the view a little, and also to train the use of this powerful tool.
Le di desde luego algo de personalidad al fondo para darle algo de lenguaje a la obra, viendo al final la paleta de colores que utilice me vi con que a lo mejor no quería que se viera tan cálida, así que me pase a usar la corrección total en la curva de tonos de Clip Studio, nada más para jugar con la vista un poco, y también claro para entrenar el uso de esta poderosísima herramienta.
