Spending money on food is something that I never took seriously. Back in the days, I was always wanting to make sure that I have a lot of money at hand or maybe in my bank account. I may not even have any plans to touch the money. I just like that feeling of having money somewhere. Due to that reason, I made sure that I recuced the amount of money that I spend on foods. Well, I began to get lean and my parents and everyone around me began to complain about my size so I decided to start spending well on food. Right now, I’m a foodie but there are still limits to how much I spend on food no matter how much I love it. Let’s see how much money I have spent on food including the cheapest and most expensive.
The cheapest food I’ve ever eaten
This is actually going to take me back to the good old days. I’m sorry but things seem to be extremely expensive now and the cheapest food I have ever bought was when things were still cheap which was about ten years ago. We spend naira in my country (Nigeria) so it was possible for us to buy Rice of twenty naira or any other food at that price. Actually, that was because I was still young. An adult should buy food of fifty naira as at then. That’s how cheap things were. Well, I would have loved to compare the price to dollar but the price of naira to dollar has changed so I guess it may be of no use.
Thinking about this now, it is making me feel like going back to those good old days when things were very cheap. I would have even bought a car by now, lol.
The most expensive food I’ve ever eaten
Firstly, I’m not the type who loves to eat outside but I do that sometimes especially when I’m not in the mood to cook. Sometimes, I go to the restaurant to buy the food and go home to eat it. I’m not a fanatic of restaurants. There was a day I was supposed to cook for my man but I was so tired so we chose to go out to buy food. We stay in Lekki which is one of the most expensive places in Lagos so I’m sure you know how things will be.
At first, we ordered for Shawarma at Blackbell restaurant and they told us it was $5. I told him not to buy it because it was too expensive so instead of going to restaurants to buy food, we had to order it online.
I hardly eat anything aside from Rice so I ordered for Rice, Chicken, Plantain and Salad. To my greatest surprise, when they calculated my food, it was $9. I understood the fact that we ordered from a big restaurant but that’s a lot of money in Nigeria. Well, my guy paid for it but God knows I wouldn’t buy a food at that price. I’d rather go to a local restaurant instead of buying Rice at the price.
How often do I eat those foods?
This question is somewhat funny because I hardly eat expensive foods and I rarely buy food outside so if you are asking me how often I eat those foods, it may be once a month. Buying food is expensive and if I decide to spend all my money on food, I won’t have any savings.
