Loneliness
Loneliness arose in like the night, A silent shadow, taking flight. It binds around me like a shroud, And leaves me feeling lost and bowed. I try to shake it off with cheer, But it's always near, always here. No matter what I do or say, It stays with me night and day. It's like a prison, dark and cold, Where hope and joy can't take hold. It's like a weight I cannot lift,
That drags me down, drains me of life.
But still I search for a way out,
To banish loneliness and its doubt.
And find a place where I belong,
Where I can sing a cheerful song.
So if you see me wandering round,
Lost in thought, with head in bound,
Remember this, my lonely plight,
And reach out your hand to hold me tight.
