Later this week I've recieve a message from a person inquiries. He was asking if how much would it cost for a drawing. I don't know what would be the right fee for drawing. Luckily I have saved some details or a guide for beginners how to price their work.
Apparently I am using an A4 size of vellum board and this is ideal for a single subject. I discussed it to my client and told him that my price for single subject to an A4 size would start at 300 pesos. The photo that he has sent me was a couple so I range it around 500 pesos but since he was my first client I give him a discount. To cut the long story short, I give him what the actual crop size of the photo because I will just try to minimize the space for the two subject in just an 8.5 X 11 inches.
Materials Used:
Graphite Pencil
Charcoal Powder
Mongol Pencil
A4 Vellum Board
Eraser and Brush
Cotton Balls and Blending Stump
Sharing my experience:
It is better to choose a decent quality of photo for reference for you to achieve a much closer look. I really struggle copying it at the same time I have few knowledge how to put shadows, right amount of the skin tone and many more. I knew that I was just a beginner but I'm gonna take this as a good experience so that in the future I can have a better drawing for my client
I needed to work hard and practice how to achieve a smooth skin tone, tonal value and draw exactly what my reference look like. I wanted to see that my drawings made my clienr proud and glad upon recieving my art work. So here's the final look of my first ever commision drawing and my first ever to draw a couple.
XOXO,
Rachelle :)
