Hello hiver!
On September 1st, classes began at all levels in my country. For Dany, my grandson, that day had special significance because he started preschool.
It was a day of reunion with friends from daycare. It had been two months of vacation without seeing many of them, and this reunion was a source of joy.

El dia primero de septiembre comenzaron las clases de todos los niveles en mi pa铆s. Para Dany, mi nieto ese d铆a tuvo un significado especial pues comenz贸 el preescolar.
Ese fue un d铆a de reencuentro con amigos de mc铆rculo infantil, o guarder铆s, como se le llama en otros pa铆ses. Fieron dos meses de vacaciones sin verse muchos de ellos y este reencuentro fue motivo de alegr铆a.
As soon as they reached the school gates, the first emotions began when they saw some of their friends arrive. The expression in their eyes said it all.
A la llegada al la puerta de la escuela comenzaron las primeras emociones, al ver llegar a algunos de sus amigos. La expresi贸n de sus ojos lo dice todo.
2- The arrival / La llegada
The photo next to the bust of Jos茅 Mart铆, our national hero, could not be missing. It also serves to show how much Dany has grown when compared to similar photos from other years.

3- Posing
A young girl was playing out in the playground. She was most likely the child of one of the teachers. The smile on her face and the beautiful expressive eyes she displayed made it impossible for me to ignore her and I took this photograph.
Una ni帽a jugaba en el patio. Probablemente era hija de una de las maestras. Su sonrisa y sus hermosos ojos expresivos me hicieron imposible ignorarla, as铆 que tom茅 esta foto.
4- Little girl
The time came for the official ceremony, where the children formed a line. They then sang the national anthem, then introduced themselves to the school teachers, and some children recited poems. Dany is in the center; he's the tallest in the group.
Lleg贸 la hora del acto oficial donde los ni帽os formaron una fila. Luego cantaron el himno nacional y posteriormente se presentaron a los profesores de la escuela y algunos ni帽os recitaron poemas. Dany est谩 al centro, es el m谩s alto del grupo.
5- The presentation
The time came for the official ceremony, where the children formed a line. They then sang the national anthem, then introduced themselves to the school teachers, and some children recited poems. Dany is in the center; he's the tallest in the group.
Una vez terminado el acto, los ni帽os con sus familiares pasaron al aula, donde la mprfesora explic贸 algunas cosas de inter茅s sobre el funcionamiento de la escuela. La caara de Dany ya no estaba tan risue帽a y algunos ni帽os comenzaron a llorar, algo que es normal, despu茅s de tantos d铆as de vacaciones.
In the classroom / En el aula
Once everything was cleared up, it was time for the children to be alone with their teachers. This is, for me, the most representative image from this series of photos, with that blackboard sign welcoming the children who are sitting in their seats ready to start this new milestone.
Una vez aclarado todo, lleg贸 el momento de que los ni帽os estuvieran a solas con sus maestros. Esta es, para m铆, la imagen m谩s representativa de esta serie de fotos, con ese cartel de pizarra dando la bienvenida a los ni帽os, sentados en sus asientos, listos para comenzar este nuevo hito.
8- Ready to start / Listo para empezar
In conclusion, the first day of school always involves so many emotions; the happiness of being back together and the tears from being apart from their parents after a long holiday! For those who are starting the preschool experience it has a special meaning that they will not forget; they already feel "big" and "grown up" and therefore have a built in sense of self-esteem.

En conclusi贸n, el primer d铆a de clases siempre trae consigo much铆simas emociones: 隆la felicidad de reencontrarse y las l谩grimas de estar separados de sus padres despu茅s de unas largas vacaciones! Para quienes comienzan la experiencia preescolar, tiene un significado especial que no olvidar谩n; ya se sienten "grandes" y "adultos" y, por lo tanto, tienen una autoestima innata.
