“When a man wears his pants that tight, they tend to pinch his balls, and that tends to pinch his temper.”
― Anne Bishop

Fact or not, finally, I have some arguments justifying why I prefer pants with an ‘overly’ comfortable fit. Just kidding.

But it’s true I do not lose my temper every now and then; even when things are against the way I thought or they are supposed to be. A blessing, I must say. And I am kinda proud of it.

But staying calm is, as I suppose, not that easy when you have the power and lack-of-willingness to accept what’s happening to you. We often lose our mind over certain things that could be dealt with in other ways. Sometimes we get mad at people or things for silly reasons and most of the time, it is because we are too impatient to listen to the reasons or simply because it didn’t go according to our preferences.

Well, impatient as we can be, there might be provocations of outer things that the other party is unaware but when this is a regular case, it’s not just a characteristic of the person liable, but in my opinion, it’s a symptom of something else; more psychological I assume.

I have many friends. I know some of them very well— like, I know and understand them more than their parents or beloveds. This is not something to boast about but it’s a common thing to have a better understanding of a friend than others as friends tend to share things with each other that even the parents do not know about.

There’s another reason why I have more knowledge about some of my friends is that I am a good listener; they love sharing things with me as I do not interrupt and most importantly, their secrets are safe with me. Well, I do refer to their stories sometimes but not to the ‘Wikileaks’ type of person. Or where they don’t usually hang out. For example, here in Hive :)

There is this individual, one of my friends actually; she has a partner with a really bad temper. I haven’t met him but heard he likes to make things complicated and often becomes aggressive when his idea of ‘righteousness’ isn’t maintained properly. They have been married for 12 years now but still, everything is as it was in the beginning. No compromise, no sense of respect for my friend.

Although I only heard it all from her side only, and it’s not wise to believe them all, I think she is telling the truth; at least a bit of it. As per her opinion, he does it to keep things in order; he is a man of great honour and self-respect and any deviation from it makes him angry. Even he becomes abusive in public if his principle is violated in any way.

Now, is that bringing any good?

Yes and no. This goes both ways. To him, everything is followed as per his preferences, so, he is doing it right. But on the other side, my friend hates him with all her might. Yet, she is with him cause it’s all about social representation and the idea of loyalty she is trying to maintain. She is a free spirit, I can say that with confidence but her soul is poisoned with disrespect and the practice of masculinity. She is a bird with ropes tied to her legs, so, all she can do is get some fresh air out of the cage but can’t fly.

I know this seems ridiculous to many of you but in some parts of the world, this is worshipped— men without ‘control’ over their ‘property’ are socially treated like snakes without deadly fangs. And trust me, boys who become men having this ideology implanted in their minds never ever form the idea of ‘righteousness.’ To me, what is right is right— regardless of religion, social belief, and culture. You just have to have the right knowledge of it without being stuffed with social bullshit.
