I love to preserve ephemera, doing it all my life (probably its something to do with my nature of archivarius, some inner qualities of the soul). I tend to love old papers, defunkt internet pages... and the street graffiti, which use to live a very short life sometimes. The complex works of art, or funny scenes made by folks in 5 minutes, that felt urged to leave their mark on the skin on the city -- they appear and go away. It is fun to stumble upon it, sun of a sports kind to be lucky to catch it, to happen there, etc. A spectre of feelings can be involved here.
Ok, look what I've found at the streets of St.Petersburg, Russia.
a small mark, mysterious and of course artsy! who knows, what does it mean? not me. for different people art can mean different things. sometimes it means nothing, except to the artist himself -- just a gesture! (self-expression?)
very lovely octopus here!
see, I am a big fan of sea life and sea creatures (I dont mean a seafood here!). coral reefs is my dream - never have been there. you know that octopuses is a very ancient form of life, well-developed and reaching to the heights of intelligence? the octopus is the smartest among other sea creatures. it ideally adapted to the environment, much better than a human person is capable of. I was very pleased to see someone left this pretty octopus here.
things a bit differ with fishes, but again, I am a fan, and collect intresting images of fish I stumble upon from time to time. these are exceptional examples - and, needless to say, very 'ephemera'.
another type of graffiti is text, folks use to leave a lot of different statements on the streets, to distribute to the public their thoughts -- some are wise, some are trivia. sometimes its a simple ad, sometimes personal messages and love confessions or birthday congratulations, or something bizarre and encrypted! or very simple 'John Dow was here' (Вася Пупкин был здесь).
I collect them and they are worth a separate post! ok, here are just a few this time, to enrich the bouquet.
this is a passionate cry from the broken heart. in Russian, the inscription says: 'Love must be mutual !!'
this one is hard to translate -- it is is a pun: 'An obvious thing, one always have to take revenge on oneself, for one never able to do it in a proper way'.
ok, this is it: 'Lexa was here'
and you cannot but wonder: 'but how?!'
