in September I was happy enaf to meet those chicken for the 1st time in my life - and had it identified on the next day. (the stump left unidentified, but definitely it wasnt one of those conifer trees that do not go well with this fungus, we dont have many of them around). but it wasnt fresh when I discovered it, and after a few days more it became even more pale white i.e. old and more wooden - less suitable to consume. so, maybe next time. I really would like to try it and full of passion towards cooking and trying it, hehe!
