Hola, Home Edders community! Now it is the 1st time I am writing to this community. I wish I could do it more often, I am sure it is a very enjoyable niche. Both my wife and me were properly schooled during our life career, but we chose things to be slightly different for our babygirl, so I do have something in my pocket :P

@OCD community highlighting initiative invited to answer the question: what is the cost of living in one's country? Thats an intresting question, I understand how its connected to the home educating thing, tho I feel a bit confused writing on this subject (I dont want to look like a whining ass, as simply as that). In addition, I am experiencing a real difficulty how to combine "in one flask" a detailed story about the quality / cost of living in Russia, and a story about our own family education ...

According to official statistics, the cost of the "consumer's minimal basket" in Russia (for a month of life) is 11,000 rubles, half of this amount is spent on food, the other half is on industrial goods and services. This amount corresponds to the statutory minimum wage level = 12,130 rubles per month. This figure is fraudulent, ideal and mythical, in fact, you can probably live on this money - but it's bad ... Suffice it to point out that transportation costs alone per month can range from 2 to 4 thousand rubles (depending on how far from work you live ). Payment for utilities in municipal housing costs about 9-10,000 rubles, renting an apartment costs from 20,000 rubles (!) Per month, and so on.

Цифра эта жульническая, идеальная и мифическая, прожить на эти деньги наверное можно -- но плохо... Oдни транспортные расходы могут составить от 2 до 4 тысяч рублей (cмотря как далеко от работы вы живете). Оплата коммунальных услуг в муниципальном жилье стоит 9-10к рублей, аренда квартиры от 20,000 рублей (!) в месяц, и т.д.

Согласно Российской конституции (она находится в дальнем родстве с советской :) все граждане имеют право на бесплатное образование и бесплатную медицину. Начиная с 2000-х годов, правительство неуклонно разрушало систему российского образования, включая сюда и среднюю школу, и высшее образование, и науку. Не будет преувеличением сказать, что Российская наука в настоящее время находится в жопе. А высшее образование для студентов осталось "бесплатным" лишь номинально - я не имею точных цифр, но принципиальная ситуация такова: на сто студентов, имеются бесплатные места 510-15 студентов - а все остальные должны платить деньги, если хотят получить высшее образование... причем, деньги будут большие, а качество образования - очень плохим. (В разных университетах цена разная, примерный уровень - 500,000 рублей и выше за учебный год).

And no students loans system. Moreover, the price level will be extreme, and the quality of education will be very poor. (In different universities the price level is different, the approximately it is 500,000 RU and upwards per academic year).

Is the taste as good, as the smell? Need to check myself...

Medical services for pets, of course, are not covered by insurance - an appointment with a veterinarian costs 1000 rubles, medicines and services cost from $ 50 and more. It is recommended not to get sick. If mom and dad get sick at the same time, the family instantly falls into a black financial hole.

For our family, high school is not an urgent issue yet, our baby isnt choosing her future career and universities any time soon... today secondary education is relevant. And here we are not a typical family. An ordinary family implements the right for free education, as stated in the Constitution: i.e. every child for 10 years goes to school for free ... here you can already start laughing over loud, because it remained "free" only on a paper. Lets count: annual levies for school renovation, textbooks. Monthly fees for 'presents' for teachers burthdays, fees for teaching aids, office supplies, paper, paints, plasticine, additional excursions to museums, class cinema-goings, memorable photo albums, even a water in a cooler ... the list is limited only by the imagination of specific school authorities and the parents' degree of poverty / resistance.

In Russia this is a very sore point, I don’t know how it is going on in other countries ... I repeat: what we are talking about is an ordinary, basic, "free for all" school. There exist a site out there, where you can get some guidance on 'how to resist all this bullshit', address is: netpoboram.ru. And I should say it is very, very popula and well-known.

Медицина... тут положение дел лучше. Но есть много нюансов. Я думаю, Российская медицина лучше чем, например, Британская - я хочу сказать, объем и качество медицинских услуг за равное количество денег, в России будет лучше. И аналогично, гораздо больше медицинских услуг можно получить бесплатно. В январе этого года я был вынужден лечить 6 зубов. Обязательная базовая бесплатная медицинская страховка покрыла большую часть этих расходов. В среднем, за лечение одного зуба я платил 2500 рублей (около 33 долларов).

Медицинские услуги для домашних питомцев, конечно, страховка не покрывает - прием у врача-ветеринара стоит 1000 рублей, лекарства и услуги стоят от 50 долларов и выше. Рекомендуется не болеть. Если одновременно заболеют мама и папа - семья моментально падает в черную финансовую дыру.

Для нашей семьи высшая школа не является насущным вопросом, наш ребенок еще не скоро будет выбирать будущую карьеру и университеты... сегодня актуально среднее образование. И здесь мы не являемся типичной семьей. Обычная семья реализует вышеуказанное в Конституции право на бесплатное образование, т.е. каждый ребенок в течение 10 лет бесплатно учится в школе... здесь уже можно смеяться, потому что "бесплатной" она осталась исключительно на бумаге. Ежегодные поборы на ремонт школы, учебники. Ежемесячные поборы на подарки для учителей, на учебные пособия, канцелярию, бумагу, краски, пластилин, дополнительные экскурсии в музеи, походы в кино, изготовление памятного фотоальбома, воду в кулере... список ограничивается только фантазией конкретных действующих лиц и степенью нищеты / сопротивляемости родителей.

В России это очень больной вопрос, не знаю как в других странах... Повторю - что речь идет об обычной, базовой "бесплатной" школе. netpoboram.ru <- существует сайт, где вам помогут.

Our child does not go to such a school, therefore, it is considered that he is taught at home. in fact, the child goes to a private commercial school, which is a surprise! - is formally considered an institution of "additional" education. In addition to our girl, there are 10 students in her class. The price of the issue is 15,000 rubles per month, excluding transportation costs ... and they are very high, because we do not own a car, we have to pay for municipal transport several times a day. This amounts to 240 rubles per day, i.e. 4000 rubles a month (haha, in one blow - half of the minimum subsistence level!)

In fact, I don't really want to talk about it, because it is a sad and very painful topic. No, we do not live, we survive. This is a very bad quality of life, always on the edge. Of course, many people live even worse ... but this is little consolation.

My story is not rubber, I managed to tell about one, so I cannot tell about another. I would like to tell how we took our child to a course of lectures on art at the Hermitage, how we taught her to draw and sculpture, how we participate in the All Colors of Childhood art festival. A separate immense topic is books, reading and our library. My wife works as an animator (draws cartoons), so it is not surprising that the child is interested in this topic. No, I cannot boast and show the cartoon we have made, this is a rather complicated matter - but we took part in a cooperative cartoon, and this is also a topic for a separate story.

Закон разрешает сделать образование домашним, семейным делом, при этом регламентированы правила, согласно которым ребенок каждый год проходит тесты и экзамены, показывающие 100% выполнение учебной программы. Если оказывается, что родители не обеспечивают образование ребенку - возможны очень суровые санкции, смотря по ситуации. Наш ребенок не ходит в такую школу, соответственно, считается что он обучается домашним порядком. на самом деле, ребенок ходит в частную коммерческую школу, которая - сюрприз! - формально считается заведением "дополнительного" образования. Кроме нашей девочки, в ее классе - 10 учеников. Цена вопроса - 15,000 рублей в месяц, без учета транспортных расходов... а они весьма высоки, потому что мы не владеем машиной, приходится несколько раз в день оплачивать муниципальный транспорт. Это составляет 240 рублей в день, т.е. 4000 рублей в месяц (хаха, одним ударом - половина минимального прожиточного уровня!)

На самом деле, мне не очень хочется говорить об этом, потому что это грустная и очень болезненная тема. Нет, мы не живем, мы выживаем. Это очень плохое качество жизни, всегда на грани. Конечно, многие люди живут еще хуже... но это слабое утешение.

Мой рассказ не резиновый, я успел рассказать об одном, поэтому не смогу рассказать о другом. Я хотел бы рассказать, как мы водили нашего ребенка на курс лекций об искусстве в Эрмитаж, как мы учили ее рисованию и лепке, как мы участвуем в арт-фестивале "Все краски детства". Отдельная необъятная тема - книги, чтение и наша библиотека. Моя жена работает аниматором (рисует мультфильмы), поэтому неудивительно, что ребёнок проявляет интерес к этой теме. Нет, я не могу похвастаться и показать сделанный нами мультфильм, это довольно сложное дело - но мы принимали участие в кооперативном мультфильме, и это тоже тема для отдельного рассказа.

Фото оценок за этот год мне стыдно показывать... Плохие и неудовлетворительные оценки - все более частный гость в нашем доме... уже еженедельный. И мы не знаем, что делать. Я с вами расстаюсь на печальной нотке. Обучение - болезненная тема, наш подросший тоддлер учится с каждым днем все хуже, увы. Мобильный телефон и другие интересы вытесняют в голове все то, что мы туда складывали эти годы. Во всяком случае, любовь к чтению мы укоренили так глубоко, что этого уже не искоренить - это одно и радует... Через два года наш ребенок перейдет в категорию "тинейджер" - а это означает куча новых проблем, а мы еще старые проблемы не успели решить. эхехе.

In two years, our child will move into the category of "teenager" - and this means a bunch of new problems, and we are not managed to decide. ehehe.
