It's the beginning of 2022 and you might in that mood to buy some new axies.
It's a good time to buy in general since the price of competitive axies has gotten so low. You have to be careful though. There are a few nerfs that are very likely to happen before season 20.
Evidence for a Balance Patch
Sky Mavis hasn't always done balance patches between seasons.
Before season 19, patches had happened pretty rarely. After the patch at the end of season seven, there were no new balance patches for eight seasons in a row. Since then though we've gotten updates every two seasons or so.
Given the amount of complaining in the community about some of the most meta builds of the season, there is a lot of discussion around a balance patch.
Jihoz even tweeted asking for feedback on potential adjustments.
A balance patch before season 20 seems very likely.
The Video
This video explains the nerfs that are most likely to happen in my opinion before season 20.
The axies will probably be less viable soon, so be careful and consider delaying any purchases of these until after the next balance patch.
