I haven’t done a lovey yet but I did read a helpful trick. When your baby is sleeping (like a nap), put the lovey over the face to see what they do, do they try to pull it off, do they wake up, do they not even realize?
I’m going to try this when I introduce a lovey to my twins. My girl literally ALWAYS pulls anything over her face (burp cloth, clothes, fabric books, blankets) and doesn’t know how to get it off so I know she’s not ready yet.
