The Israelites did evil in the sight of God and God delivered them into the hand of Midian for seven years. Usually the evil they do is to turn their hearts from the LORD to serve other gods. The Midianites waited till the harvest to destroy and raid the harvest of the children of Israel. Israel became impoverish and cried unto God for help. Gideon the son of Joash threshed his wheat in hiding because of the fear of the Midian. One day, the angel of the LORD appeared to him and called him mighty man of valour. Apparently, God Had appointed him to lead the Israelites to fight for their liberation.
Dear beloved, God Has a plan for you; He Has put a lot of potential in you. If He calls you to a task, believe that you have what it takes to execute it. Trust in Him and He will bring out the best in you. Praise the Lord!
