Hello my friends, let's talk about guarding our hearts.
Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.
Proverbs 4:23 NLT
All believers are instructed to, >ABOVE ALL ELSE, GUARD YOUR HEART, for EVERYTHING YOU DO FLOWS FROM IT.
The HEART is the inner core of a person, the feelings, desires, thoughts, will, and choices that make that person who he/she is.
The Bible tells us that our thoughts dictate who we become in life, see Proverbs 23:7; 27:19.
Your mind reflects who you really are, not simply your actions or words.
That is why God examines the heart of a man, not simply his outward appearance and what he appears to be, see First Samuel 16:7.
Ezra prepared his heart before he sought the Word of God to do it and to teach it, see Ezra 7:10. It is the same with us too.
This is the very reason that an unstable, fearful, bitter, angry, jealous, lustful or an inconsistent heart cannot tap into the fullness of the living God.
EVERY child of God is called to BRING the Good News, which is the Gospel to others. We need to guard our hearts to understand GOD'S Word and hear God’s voice, before we can fully and effectively minister God’s power to people.
You can't afford to allow your heart to be quenched or discouraged or be influenced by sin.
The vision God has given you is crucial. You have a mission ahead. There are greater things that need to be done. And for all that and beyond, your heart needs to be in perfect tune with God.
Here’s an action plan you can follow, with simple steps to keep your heart guarded:
Learn to let go. Remember offences are inevitable in relationships and will surely happen, so make sure you do not hold onto it and nurse grudges in your heart.
Learn to let go quickly. Don't take a day or a month. Start seeking God immediately and enjoy the freedom and peace of God in your mind and in your heart.
Repent quickly. Give no oppurtunity for bitterness or unforgiveness to breed in your heart. Remember who you are in Christ; so live up to that greatness in Christ.
Practice apologising immediately when you do something wrong to someone and geniunely ask for their forgiveness.
Enjoy being totally dependent and continually dependent on the Holy Spirit.
The Word of God reminds us that we can do nothing on our own. Cry out to the sweet Holy Spirit and admit and tell Him how helpless you are without Him. Believe me; He listens and He will help when you genuinely and diligently seek Him.Pursue God to renew your heart on a daily basis.
Practice keeping your heart pure for the King. Don't live for yourself, live for the King.
Friends, GUARD YOUR HEART ABOVE ALL THINGS. KEEP YOUR HEART PURE for the Lord’s use, so that your prayer will not be hindered.
And you will see great glory ahead.
Give NO room at all for the enemy. Go on into your destiny and always guard your heart.
