It is time, to follow my heart.

In my introduction, I mentioned not beginning to publish content, for over a year after creating my account.
Now I am concluding creating content, over a year since my last post. It was a big commitment for me to start. I did not want to lightly make a final decision to stop.
If nothing else, I guess one might say I am consistent ...
Why?
Answering this question has stopped me writing this post, up until now. The biggest reasons I could come up with even now are - 1) the simple courtesy of giving others at least some idea of what happened to me, 2) my desire to have a record for whatever future reference I may wish to have for myself.
Here is a brief outline, then, of answers to this question:
- In my "Balance. Getting out into the Light!" post, I touched on the first big hurdle to deal with in my deciding to participate on the Hive blockchain. While I had some idea of it going in, it was a far bigger challenge than I had anticipated.
- In my "Dilemna. Affirmation versus "Hobby from Hell!"" post, I touched on a key part of why I found the question of balance so challenging.
- In my "Experiment. Getting Paid to Interact with Others!" post, I touched on what I came to believe was the Achilles Heel of the Hive blockchain. Inherent in that statement is the perception of some philosophical understanding of human nature that misses the mark.
This last one was very significant to me and my perception of what experiencing participating on the Hive blockchain was all about. Along with the other two, it speaks for itself ...

FWIW, in my view, I had developed a pretty good rhythm in my posting, in spite of these challenges. I was beginning to even think of making a much bigger investment into my stake here. Then I experienced the destruction of one of the communities I had named in my Introduction.
I will not characterize what I witnessed. I will simply clearly state, along with the challenges of what I have briefly touched on above, that it put an end to my thought of investing further. While I posted a bit longer, it grew increasingly obvious my heart was no longer in it.

For all of its complexities, there is one aspect of participating on the Hive blockchain that must be universally true. The deep desire inside of us all to have social connections to others.

As I experienced the plus side of this here, I came to realize something. Which I am not sure one can fully appreciate, until they have experienced it, for themselves. I wrote about this in my "Virtual community. Reality?" post.
With that said, I am truly appreciative of the time others chose to invest in interacting with me. As I understand it is taboo to create links to others, I will not list them here. If any of them ever read this post, I trust they will know they would have been on it.
Off I go ...
It has been interesting to experience the Hive blockchain. I do not regret the decision to try it out. The UX of what this ecosystem subjects its participants to seems to be an acquired taste, if one is to survive it long-term.
Going beyond that to thriving in it? Well, I can only state the obvious. Whatever that takes, I do not have it.
For those who do have it, I truly hope your efforts bring you joy and fulfillment.
Best wishes,
QT
