Sorry for me super late response; Wasn't doing well in going through my Reply section last few weeks. Samples are the bases for creating electronic music I suppose. Maybe even music that originally is not electronic, but with all the computing power we have today, we get the ability to create eg a classical piece from samples. Recently a friend purchased a sample pack from a sound study that recorded many samples from live classical music instruments from which he created a set of tracks for an upcoming documentary. Sounds really cool. This guy lives by hardware though. He has all the drum computers used by the top guys and though he uses more and more samples for computer software, he still produces many of his tracks by using his hardware gear.
