Away From The World
Atop the highest mountains
Above the clearing view
The world; in all it's vastness,
Reveals me without you
I descend toward the fountains,
That we drank from in our youth.
But all I taste is ashes
Of a tasteless bitter truth
I'm running out of options
I'm not sure what to do
In the wild, I am caste-less
A nomad on the move
I hunger with a passion
For what has gone too soon
As a doe grazing the grasses
flees a predator at noon.
When the light fades into darkness
I'm like a wolf without its boon
I will tarry on in silence
As the thread of time looms
I dream upon valley flowers
Under light of the glowing moon
She reflects upon me smiling
Knowing I'll always follow through
A rising tide so boundless
I will always have this proof
I will trace the tracks in silence
Hoping they lead me back to you.
