The Village
I have spent some time in a village in north Bali, and now I am back in Denpasar, the main city of Bali. I had some great times with my family there in the north. We enjoyed our time going to the beach several times in the north.
Village is more quiet than the city. That's almost true everywhere. But I found the village is more strict in regards toward covid-19 situation. Life in the village starts at 8 AM. This was the time when shops and market open. And it will stay open until 4PM. Beyond that, if they still open, they will be fined USD 170 by the village (which is quite a lot for a village in Bali).
So, that's why when I was in the village we can only go buy anything we need from 8AM to 4PM. There is no night market, and shops closed in the evening.
There were not so many activities going on during the day either. Everybody seems to stay home.
The City
And I was a bit surprised when I arrived in the city. There is no limitation of time for the shops in term of their open hours period. Shops, cafes, markets open early morning until late in the evening.
On the main street, I could see a lot of people, motor cycles, and cars. Well, it's true that the population in the city is way more than the village. That's why there are more things going on in the city. There are many casual or freelance workers in the city who need to go out to do their daily jobs or they wont earn any money.
There is no lock down in my city at the moment, but our government has suggested social distancing and stay at home.There are a lot of people who work as daily workers who have to go out and earn their living. At the moment, the covid-19 situation hurting us more in term of economy.
