One evening, my family and I went to a restaurant called Warung Senja Batas Kota or "dusk in town edge." It is located at the edge of town of Negara, near rice fields. Usually, there's a beautiful view of growing rice, but this time it was just harvested. Even so, we liked the peaceful feeling when we got there.
We sat at a long table with an option to sit cross-legged like Indonesians do. From our spot, we could see traffic lights far away across the field on the main street beyond the rice plants that have been harvested.
For dinner that night, my wife and I ordered mixed vegetables and sapo tahu (tofu mixed with veggies), while my son chose fried chicken and my daughter picked fried rice – typical kid favorites! I enjoyed the seafood which come with the mixed vegetables (capcay) which tasted really good.
For drink, my wife and I chose fresh lemon juice, a healthy option, I thought. The children chose avocado juice and milk shake. Typical.
Overall, the taste of our dinner was great. We like the mixed vegetables. My son said, the chicken tasted better then McDonald. My daughter enjoyed her fried rice.
There was only one other customer while we were there, a family of six. Unlike us, they chose to sit on chairs near the entrance.
There were more customers during the weekend, the staff explained. It did not really matter. We liked it when there were not so many people. At the end of our dinner, we made our way to the sofa and swing chairs near rice field. We spent few minutes there to enjoy the peaceful evening.
