The month of June put us to the test.

This June of 2026 will be etched in the memory of Venezuelans as a month of immense hardship, since in recent weeks nature seems to have unleashed its full force through the four elements, leaving a deep mark on different regions of the country. On June 24, the north-central part of the country was shaken by two nearly simultaneous earthquakes with magnitudes of 7.2 and 7.5 Mw, with epicenters in Yaracuy and Carabobo. The areas around La Guaira and Caracas suffered the most severe damage, including structural collapses and landslides. So far, official figures report more than 1,900 deaths, thousands of injuries, and a complex rescue operation that continues with international support.

Alongside the seismic emergency, the passage of tropical waves brought extreme rainfall toward the end of this month in the west. River overflow in Chabasquén, in Portuguesa State, left several communities cut off and affected more than a hundred families. Meanwhile, in Caracas, the rainfall caused homes to collapse in vulnerable areas such as La Pastora.

Fires also caused alarm, especially in Barquisimeto, Laras State, where in the early morning hours of Sunday, June 28, a fire broke out at the Sambil Barquisimeto food court; fortunately, it was brought under control by local firefighters. This occurred just a few days after another large-scale fire consumed a well-known commercial establishment in downtown Barquisimeto.

Added to all this has been the wind, which has lashed various regions with force due to atmospheric instability. In Caracas and Zulia State, wind gusts toppled trees and downed power lines, disrupting basic services. Likewise, the previous occurrence of strong winds that tore off roofs in rural areas of Lara, such as Quibor, highlights the severity of these meteorological events.

All these natural disasters once again test the organizational capacity, community solidarity, and resilience of the Venezuelan people. El mes de junio nos puso a prueba.

El doble terremoto del 24 de junio.

El pasado 24 de junio el centro Norte del país fue sacudido por un doble sismo casi simultáneo con unas magnitudes de 7.2 y 7.5 mw, con epicentro en yaracuy y carabobo en la zona de la guaira y Caracas es donde se sufrieron los daños más graves con colapso estructurales y deslizamiento hasta el momento las cifras oficiales reportan más de 1900 fallecidos miles de heridos y una compleja labor de rescate que aún continúa con apoyo internacional.

Lluvias torrenciales e inundaciones.

A la par de la emergencia sismológica el paso de ondas tropicales trajo lluvias extremas a final de este mes en el occidente el desbordamiento de ríos en chabasquén por el estado portuguesa dejó a como comunidades incomunicadas y afectó a más de un centenar de familias mientras tanto en Caracas las precipitaciones causaron el colapso de viviendas en sectores vulnerables como la pastora.

Siniestros en el centro-occidente.

El fuego también causó alarmas especialmente en barquisimeto estado laras ya que en la madrugada del domingo 28 de junio se registró un incendio en la feria de comida del sambil barquisimeto que afortunadamente fue controlado por los bomberos locales esto ocurrió pocos días después de que otro incendio de gran magnitud consumieron conocido establecimiento comercial en el centro de la misma ciudad.

Viento: =======

Ráfagas y tormentas severas.

A todo esto también se la ha sumado el viento el cual ha azotado con fuerza distintas regiones debido a la inestabilidad atmosférica en Caracas y el estado zulia hubieron ráfagas de viento que derrumbaron árboles y tendidos eléctricos interrumpiendo servicios básicos y así mismo el antecedente de fuertes vientos que levantaron techos en zonas rurales de Lara como Quibor muestra la vulgaridad ante estos eventos meteorológicos.

Todos estos desastres naturales ponen a prueba una vez más la capacidad de organización la solidaridad comunitaria y la resistencia de nosotros lo de la población venezolana en momentos tan duros el apoyo mutuo y la difusión de información verificada son herramientas clave para superar esta adversidad.

Personalmente estoy muy agradecido con todos los que han ayudado a las distintas familias colocando su grano de aporte sé que hay muchos venezolanos ayudando venezolanos sé que hay muchos extranjeros ayudando a venezolanos sé que hay muchas personas que no conoce nada la gravedad de esta situación y aún así muestran su interés apoyo y preocupación del fondo de mi corazón les quiero dar un fuerte abrazo y las gracias por todo, por el apoyo brindado y por esas palabras de aliento que en muchas ocasiones hacen que mantengamos la frente en alto.
