Hi everyone, today we talk Apple.
I think everyone knew that Face ID would be used again after the release of the iPhone X. The newest iOS Release 11.3 shows a "modern iPad" which is a good clue for an iPad Pro with Face ID, because the iPhone X was shown as a "modern iPhone" as well.
The word modern is a clear seperation from the "classic" iPhone 8, so it could be that we see a new iPad with no border similar to the iPhone X. The iPad could lose Touch ID in the process. In the current iPad, a physical button is still used as a home button, while Apple has already replaced the iPhones button with a vibrating surface with the iPhone 7.
KGI Securities assumes that Face ID will remain reserved for the iPad Pro models and won't be used in cheaper versions for quite some time.
At the same time, the work on an iPhone SE 2 is nearly complete. It will go into production in the second quarter and be shipped in May or June. It is not confirmed, if it will support 3D Touch or Face ID. But the iPhone SE2 will support wireless charging, as the new iPhones.
