Hello everyone, I hope you are all doing well. Today I would like to discuss Grimdave the Unbent. This is a legendary water archon from the escalation edition distinguished from other archons by its unique abilities and strategic utility. What I find most compelling about this card is that it allows for the creation of teams that go beyond a single element incorporating monsters from the treefolk bloodline.

With a mana cost of only 3 it offers a significant advantage. mana management is crucial when selecting an archon for battle especially when you need to assemble an effective team under a strict mana cap. Its low cost ensures you still have plenty of mana left to include other key monsters. However its true strength extends well beyond its low mana cost it is defined by its bloodline dominion and incendiary tactic.

Bloodline dominion enables the summoning of suitable monsters from the treefolk bloodline regardless of their original element. This opens up a wider range of synergies and strategic possibilities when building your team. In my view this feature is particularly appealing to those who enjoy experimenting with novel combinations. By selecting the right treefolk monsters you can achieve a strong balance between offense and defense.

Another vital feature is the incendiary tactic. This ability allows you to apply a burning effect to up to two enemy units. Burning reduces the affected unit's health in subsequent rounds and can occasionally spread to adjacent units providing an opportunity to gradually weaken the opponent's key monsters. In longer battles this persistent damage can become a major problem for your opponent.

That said there are some limitations. The spread of the burning effect is not guaranteed and if the opponent possesses an ability like cleanse they can remove it. Therefore it is not advisable to rely solely on the Incendiary tactic as your primary path to victory. Instead it is better to use this archon by aligning its tactics with the abilities of other monsters. Without the right synergy it can be difficult to fully realize this archon's potential.

Overall, I consider this a strategy driven archon by combining the treefolk bloodline with the burning effect it opens up new possibilities in battle. For those of you who have used this archon please feel free to share your experiences and thoughts in the comments. Thank you all very much for reading today’s post.
