It is a common monster from the water splinter which I find quite compelling due to its defensive capabilities and melee attack. In my view the true strength of this card lies not just in its offensive power but in its ability to exert pressure on the opponent when placed within the right team composition.

A notable feature of this card is its flank ability. If the card is positioned in the first slot at the start of a battle the monster directly behind it gains the reach ability. This allows a melee attacker positioned in the second slot to strike the enemy. I find this feature highly effective as it enables an increase in the team's offensive potential while maintaining a solid front line defense a particularly useful advantage when building a melee focused team using the water splinter.

Another great aspect of this card is that its abilities improve as it levels up. With the fury ability it deals double damage when attacking an enemy that possesses the taunt ability. Meanwhile, the dodge ability increases the chance of evading physical attacks and the shield ability helps reduce damage taken from both melee and ranged attacks. The combination of these abilities makes it a strong choice for both offense and defense.

However, like any card it has its limitations. With a mana cost of 8 you must carefully consider your budget when assembling your team spending too much mana on this card might limit your ability to include other essential units. Furthermore the fury ability is only useful if the opponent has a monster with taunt meaning it may not be equally effective in every match. Similarly one shouldn't rely entirely on dodge as there is no guarantee that an attack will be successfully evaded every time.

In my opinion when using this card it is best to place a powerful melee monster behind it one that can take full advantage of the reach ability. Additionally the rest of the cards in your team should be selected in a way that maintains a balance between offense and defense. You can better understand the effectiveness of this card by using it while taking into account the battle's ruleset and your opponent's strategy.
