Hi friends of steemit, they knew that obesity affects people of all ages, races and social class. However, there are places where the obesity index is much higher.

A recent study found that more than 2 billion adults and children worldwide are overweight or obese and suffer from health problems for this reason. The islands of the Pacific, the Middle East and the American continent top the list in terms of regions with the highest rates of obesity. In 2014, over 48% of the population of the Cook Islands was classified as obese. Qatar led in the Middle East with 34%, followed closely by the United States with 33%, according to the World Health Organization.

A study published by the journal Nature used smart phone data to analyze the number of steps taken on average each day among people in 111 countries.

Using the Azumio Argus application, which records physical activity, the researchers monitored the steps of more than 700,000 individuals and classified countries based on their level of movement in the form of steps, and those numbers varied significantly.

Hong Kong topped the ranking with 6,880 average daily steps, followed closely by China with 6,189 steps. At the bottom of the list was Indonesia, with 3,513 steps.

These are the countries where there is greater obesity:
1- United States:
The rate of obesity of American adults (defined as people aged 15 or older) reached 38.2 percent, which places the country of hamburgers at the top of the ranking of the "fattest" countries in the world, according to a survey update of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development.
2- Mexico:
The Wall Street Journal published that Mexico came second, with 32.4 percent of its population considered obese.
3- New Zealand
4- Hungary
5- Australia
6- Great Britain

In most countries, the OECD found that women are more obese than men, although the male population is rapidly increasing obesity rates. Education is crucial, as the organization found that less education gives a woman two or three times more likely to be overweight than a more educated woman in about half of the eight countries where information is available. According to the US newspaper, the OECD discovered that the employment prospects of obese people are lower than those of their thinner peers, earning approximately 10 percent less and registering lower productivity due to working fewer hours and missing more days due to illness.
