I've never actually seen a harpsichord. It's so oblong! I can't imagine the bigger ones. I thought the remains of your bow was some sort of small rope for hoisting open the lid.
I like repairing and restoring instruments myself, mostly because the repair fee is steep and the tech always says it's not worth it. I have a habit of trying to keep dead and dying things alive. Working on an obsolete concert mellophone right now!
