Hello, pilots and civilians and welcome to the thirteenth installment of the weekly eXode lab report! It has been a long week, with intermittent feature diaries straight from the developer. I imagine he has been very busy with his focus on coding the next Colonization phase: PLANET. That is the priority right now.
Meanwhile...
In the meantime, all efforts are going towards discovering the last unknown biofragments of Casrarene's flora and fauna. One such plant we've had trouble locating and performing tests on in the field is Baum.
There's little else yet to be discovered about Baum plants besides which parts are actually of scientific use to us! We currently know a lot about what it looks like, and also what it..."Eats"? So is this plant carnivorous?
Another plant that eludes us is the Teal Alaluthir Flower. Actually, we initially got reports over the comms from the scout that the number of biofragments had been discovered! However, upon debriefing, it was revealed that we still know nothing about the Alaluthir Flower's biofragments. A glitch in reality? Disinformation? Or just outright lies?
Yet another plant from this world, this one called Tolvosite, has allowed itself to be studied with more scrutiny.
Some information has been gathered in regards to all properties of the fragment save for its chemical details. This is probably one of the most pieces of information! At least we know some information about "fragmentChemicals". That should be insteresting. Elindos discussed much in the way of chemicals and combining them to form new ones in his last feature diary. Speaking of which, keep your long range comms turned on because another one is about to be released!
Make sure you're not broadcasting that wide and powerful signal any longer than necessary! During all the hustle and bustle of colony management and investigation and whatnot, we've been forgetting about something: STEALTH!
The aliens that decimated Terra have not forgotten about us. They are, in fact, still trying to track us down. They have been combing the cosmos according to our last known trajectory. Every day they make attempts at discovering our exact location. That is what inspired the cover for this edition of the lab report. The Syndicate Trooper is the only card (so far) that says "Stealthy" on it. The Special Infiltration Agent has Stealth as one of her personality traits. And the guard represents the person that will be constantly guarding your quarters. After all, being a leader makes us a high value target. All these characters are shown with weapons (not included). Weapons, I think, will make it a lot easier to survive. Well...at least until ammo runs out. But with the vast wealth of biochemicals, minerals, and metals available on these virgin planets it shouldn't be too hard to craft more ammunition or your first weapons if that be the case!
The sounds of industry and development are detectable though. I guess we're already leaving our own footprint on the planet. We've changed it. And we will continue to change it (eyeing the Fireworks in the Rekatron catalogue).
Along with all the other stuff I've thought to bring on my next trip to planet Casrarene (Eisen suits, chemical cuves, etc), I think it will be smart to bring some underground construction and maybe some compact living apartments. The more people we can hide underground the better. This will have its toll on Happiness though. Still, I'd rather have a large miserable colony safely hidden than some dead colonists, though happily living on the surface.
Housing will always be an issue. Although premium habitations can be brought along in the form of prefabs, I think it's best to just use up one cargo slot on your ship for that (but make it a good one!) and save the other slots for other necessities.
More makeshift shelters can be made as needed using available raw materials anyway. So that's why I don't stress much on that. Another tip: bring lots of power generation and at least 1 Robot!
I've also pondered the strategy of bringing minimal cargo and counting on luck to steal some good crates from the starbase during EVAC. You never know what helpful things for your colony you might find. The team dubbed "cartel-exode", still focusing on discovering intel on the dangers of planet Coune, managed to grab a Federal Space Academy from the starbase before blasting off! There are also rumors of some encrypted cargo crates being found that can only be opened by Secret Agents.
All I can say is we have much to learn, even more to fear, and that I hope this ship is in a better state than it looks!
What is eXode?
eXode is a real-time strategy space colonization game here on the Hive Blockchain. If you still have not purchased your starter pack, use this referral code (de7ed45) and you'll also receive 2 free Alpha Booster Packs with 5 NFT cards each along with a free Epic Alpha Character!
In the future, these lab reports will contain much more substance (and numbers!) including season objective rewards, legacy rewards (when your game...ends), and of course 馃崏 [MELN] activities.
馃崏 [MELN] is the alliance I co-founded, the Market Expansion Leaders Navy. Our leader, @birdbeaksd, is also the host of eXode's only weekly giveaway. Check that out for a chance to win a Water-Hydrogen Converter Unit.
For a in-depth guide for anything and everything eXode-related, you can take a look at this post.

What is The 1UP Cartel?
The 1UP-Cartel is a mix between a gaming guild like YGG (that invests into gaming assets and creates scholarships for gamers, sharing the gaming revenue), a dividend token (similar to BRO, LBI, INDEX and UTOPIS, paying out regular dividends to token holders from part of the revenue stream) as well as one of the most extensive curation service initiative on the Hive-Engine ecosystem thus far.
