I just recently discovered this artist called SlumberJack, and I have to say that I am in love with his music. Their (Slumberjack is a group) intricate designs of sounds make their synths stand out in a genre that shouldn’t, producing alternative EDM and all. They often produce with the base of classical instruments, while layering synths on top of them to make the melodies more interesting.
Their hottest single, Fracture, is one that all producers should pay attention to. How they lay down the lead (which I presume is a vocal chop heavily proccessed while stacked upon other layers) on top of the beat to create this really heavy drop is increidble. Their percussion use is also pretty cool, having a mixture of old and new hits laid around.
They are definitely a pair that has a future, having landed at Wired Music Week, my friend just so happen ran into them and engaged in a conversation about producing with them. They turned out to be really nice guys and I hope to hear more of their music soon!
