Understanding property and land value and laws are the most complicated thing to me. I was talking to my dad today and was discussing the rules and laws about property ownership. Bangladesh is a Muslim country and according to Islamic law, property ownership and documents are very complicated things and many cases stay unsolved. Currently, my family is dealing with the ownership of my great grandfather as the documents work had not completed before. Obviously, now our land ownership situation is complicated and it is going to be a long-term process.
I only know how to build a house, I only know the ratio of cement and water so these entire complicated legal documents issue is very complex to me. But as an elder child of the entire family, I have to take responsibilities as well and it's now time because my father wants me to become involved with the family matters once again.
After my mom's death, I stayed disconnected from family matters and especially stayed away from relatives. My dad's family is very big and complex so I never wanted to involve in any family matters. But today my dad reminded me that it's time to understand family because, after him, I have to take care of all of these things.
I am not gonna lie to you, the whole matter is really complex and that scared me. Bangladeshi land laws are the most ancient laws and it takes a lot of time to solve a case. And if the land is agricultural land without proper documents and owned by the ancestors then the situation becomes more complicated. From generation to generation, the case stays unsolved. According to the law, girls get a very little percentage from their own family as they also get from their husband and in-law's house. That's the most difficult part and always creates complications regarding the given land from the ancestors.
Right now this is one of the major work for me and I, no matter where I am, have to involve in this as an elder child of the family. I never thought that I would have to be involved in such matters but it's time to become mature and stand for my own rights and for my family.
Until next time... Have a nice day everyone...
