Hello friend, I am Kim Jong-a president of north korea, at the time it cost me and I had a lot of social phobia, until I thought that if something went wrong or they were boozing me I could cut off their heads.
Always someone is not going to like your intervention or they will be sought from you.
Everyone has at least one hater.
I will show you 3 techniques
1. Face your fear with the "worst fantasy" technique
The worst fantasy technique is a very useful strategy to overcome the fear of speaking in public. It belongs to the Strategic Brief Therapy approach and is an exercise of "controlled concern". This technique invites you, one week before you have to speak in public, to perform the following exercise every day:
"Every day at the same time, lock yourself in your room or in a place where you can be in dim light and without being disturbed. Lock yourself there to make sure no one is going to interrupt you. Take the phone and put the timer to sound at 30 minutes. You have to sit comfortably and for 30 minutes you will dedicate yourself to feel the fear of speaking in public.
Instead of avoiding this fear, you are going to think about everything that worries you most when it happens when you speak in public and you are going to let all the fear flow. Once the 30 minutes have passed and the alarm sounds, you will interrupt your thoughts, your feelings, you will say STOP! or FOR !. You get up, leave the room, go to the bathroom and wash your face and keep going with the tasks and routine "
"Courage is knowing what not to fear"
2. Declare your "fear" or reveal your "weakness"
This strategy is for you to apply at the moment you start with your speech or presentation. If you are afraid to speak in public, the most effective is to declare and confess your fear. It's about that, in front of your audience, you explain that you are very excited or enthusiastic, that you are very grateful for the fact that they are there and that you can count on their presence.
Then, you also have to directly address the following point: explain that if you lose the thread or you get a little nervous, apologize. If it happens it will be because you are very happy to be able to make your presentation and to count on them as an audience. In this way, declaring your fear or weakness will free you from the pressure of "not being noticed". With this strategy you will free yourself from being concentrated in that no one is aware of your fear and that it goes unnoticed.
Declare a fragility, makes it a strength, also connect with your audience and awaken empathy. Because remember that a large percentage of the population has Social Phobia and / or fear to speak in public, your audience will understand you and the environment will be more relaxed. All this will help you noticeably overcome your fear of speaking in public.
"Declared fragility ceases to be such, and becomes a strength"
3. Control your breathing and start talking very slowly
Controlling breathing is one of the most useful tools to overcome the fear of speaking in public. You have to concentrate on breathing deeply and practicing diaphragmatic breathing (stomach instead of chest), not being aware of your nerves or fear and focusing all your senses on your breathing.
At the beginning of your speech, strive to speak slowly, thus improving the neurological feedback generated by speech and better manage your fear. Because, if you speak slowly you block the symptoms of fear, since you are shifting your attention towards a neutral element, as is the rhythm of your voice, and away from fear.
These 3 strategies are the most useful to overcome the fear of speaking in public and work for cases of "fear" but not "phobia" (fear too intense and paralyzing). If in your case you have a phobia to speak in public, these strategies will help you get out of step If you are a person with fear to speak in public, practice these strategies, you will see how you overcome your fear. Cheer up!
