I saw this video on youtube today and realized how this is so true regarding levees or any flood mitigation projects. Even though engineers follows standard engineering methods to accurately evaluate upstream and downstream changes to the flood mitigation, most of the models engineers use are outdated. The modeling programs also change over time. one of the best methods to address these challenges is real time modeling. Real time models address many of the drawbacks in the old obsolete models.
