So at what point does it move from Shrinkflation or skimpflation to totally ridiculous. This video on X is an example of what I'm trying to say.

I ate a bag of spicy Ruffles yesterday and something tasted wrong, I haven't had them in a long time so I thought I was going to get the old taste. They have so changed, like a weird out of place bitterness that shouldn't be how chips should taste like. So I held one up staring at it and these chips are half as big as they used to be. They are literally half the size and the price hasn't decreased. If anything, it's gone up.
Previously, each individual chip had some bulk to it. You could really chew on them. The ridges had some resistance as you bit down. Now they just snap, if you don't pull it out gently you won't be eating the whole chip. Imagine eating a dry stick that's been sitting outside in the sun.
You'll probably say that I just got a bad bag and that I'm imagining things. But thiis new bag was an insult.
Companies think we won't notice when they shrink the product. They think the spicy flavor will mask the fact that they're now using a thinner, more brittle potato. I'm never buying Ruffles again. If you see the new, smaller bags on the shelves, don't buy them. They're not worth the money for all that air and broken chips. I'm done with Ruffles.
If only they'd go back to what they used to be. I did see in one random news that due to some backlash they're making a few changes to make them bigger. They have to otherwise it's downhill from here.
Yes you need profits but this is ridiculous
