Wow. I don’t think there should be any excuse for neglecting those you defined as friends to you especially when you were all together and just because you were privileged to travel out or something good happens, you then forget completely of those times. That’s not fair, I would say. 13 years is too much not to reach back and still prove you are loyal to your friendship.

People tend to forget so quickly, particularly when they have the idea that they are better than others because life was graced on them. Such is life and just like you said, when we don’t expect anything from them, we won’t feel too surprised or even disappointed because at that point, we already have known things like this are bound to happen anyways.
