I try to be careful in dealing with anyone who comes to me for help regarding other people and when it comes to me using my money for such, I won't accept especially when I wouldn't know they'd pay back.

That incident will surely teach one a lesson not to trust people especially those you don't know really well because when things turned south, they would act as if you didn't help them.
