Everyone wants to be rich and wealthy but not everyone has what it takes to make the money and even when they do, they still wouldn't want to learn how to manage it in order not to miss the target of fulfilling their aim of building financial independence. Money is so important to us that it goes a long way in solving part of our daily needs. According to Abraham Maslow, the bedrock of those needs lies in money and without it, we cannot meet our physiological needs, safety, love and belonging, esteem and self-actualization.
How important is money?
With the constant needs of human beings, we are sure that when money is taken out of it, few are what is left of our problems because when you meet an individual feeling sober, the only thing he or she would tell you is that, "I need money". Once they see money, they are able to do other things that have been left pending. Just like a user last night, he said he needs a crypto job that pays $200 and above as he needed the money to solve a lot of things.
Just like me, I know how important money is to meet all my needs. I have been thinking of finding means of making more money aside from blogging all because I want to solve most of my challenging issues and once I am able to do that, then half of my problems are solved already. Money can buy one's safety. Though it can buy you love, but can never help to sustain it. You are the one to keep managing the love else, there might be issues clinging onto you.
For many people, money is a source of security and a way to achieve their goals and aspirations. Money can be used to pay for their basic needs such as food, housing, and healthcare, as well as luxuries like travelling for exploration and getting fancy cars. While for others, money can buy them power, status, affluence and power in society. The truth about this is that it is essential to meet all these needs, or else a lot of things might suffer for it, including ourselves. Lack of money changes an individual and this majorly causes a lot of people to be in depression.
There was a case of a young student in the 100 level who committed suicide because he couldn't afford to pay back a loan of a million naira. According to sources, he tried his best and all means to achieve this but he couldn't and that was the only way to end his life to free him from debt. Just as money brings beauty out of an individual, it also makes it worse and more frustrating that they end up engaging in illegal businesses just to achieve their goals in life.
However, money can have a great impact on our mental and emotional well-being. The stress one would go through trying to pay bills and provide for their family can lead to depression and anxiety. Also, the daily pursuit of money can lead one to a never-ending cycle of acquiring material things and desiring more money, thereby leading to dissatisfaction and unhappiness.
While money is important to acquire, it is also necessary to learn how to manage your money responsibly and be able to improve your daily life and the lives of those around us. Money is just a tool and true happiness comes from building relationships, personal growth and being able to give back to the community.
Above all, though money is essential for our daily lives, it is important to understand its twist and possible drawbacks.
