Whenever I remember the words of my Sister, I just smile. Anytime I mention Hive to her, she would always be against it and tell me to leave this platform while I go for something better where I would be recognised, but little did she know depending only on Web 2 platform or organisation can be risky. The previous Zealy Challenges I participated in have enlightened me more on the benefits of Web 3 and how it can help everyone if we embrace it.

I started the year on Hive and, surely, I would be ending it with this amazing platform and beyond. Hive has proven to be the best decentralized blockchain that is capable of creating wealth and opportunities for everyone interested in joining it. On Hive, I made lots of friends who have supported and helped my growth and it is not something I would want to stop at all. Hive has been a source of income since I graduated from the university in the year 2021, even when there was a delay in our certificate, I was working from home and the money I get is what I use to survive without disturbing or relying on anyone.
With lots of updates, I have been able to grow my Hive Power even though I had to power down some amount recently, it hurt me to do that but there was no other option than doing it. I powered down for 3 weeks which I have stopped and I am hoping not to meet with an unexpected responsibility that would make me click on the power down button anytime soon.
Three weeks ago, I went for my National Youth Service Corps and to tell you that apart from the $40 (#40,000) I was supported with by my two aunts, Hive carried the huge support for me. When I calculated the amount I spent in camp plus my transport fare both to and fro up until now, it is over $150. Can you see it? Hive helped me a lot and I never lacked because of this platform. Aside from that, everything I was able to purchase for my service was through Hive. Ever since I have been working from home on Hive, it has made me stop requesting money from my big sis because I know what she has been facing with, lots of responsibilities from the family and her career.
Hive helped me to support my younger ones in school and it has been something I am grateful for. Being lucky to have met Hive is something I wouldn't want to take for granted. Two days ago, I was speaking with my sister concerning a new accommodation and she promised to give me some money. I made her know I have gotten some amount too so it doesn't look like she would be taking another responsibility on me. She felt so happy but I had to remind her that it was Hive which she wanted me to stop a long time ago that provided this for me. She laughed!
The truth is, my consistency on Hive has made me enjoy it a lot. Showing up daily and doing my part has earned me a lot of opportunities. This is something I keep telling people who feel like giving up on Hive because they aren't earning as much as they wanted. I started from somewhere too and there are still days I do not earn well but I never thought of giving up. If you are consistent and serious on this platform, there are lots of things to enjoy and be independent on your own.
I will be getting new accommodation by next month as I continue the remaining 11 months serving my fatherland. I plan to keep Hiving while I manage the little monthly allowance the government would be paying Nigerian corpers and even if I need to withdraw from Hive, it won't be much as I need to work hard to get back what I have powered down here. Thank God we are earning both in HBD and HP. While I grow my Hive Power, I would be spending some HBD on other things I would need in the future. My plan now is to set at least one or two of my posts weekly to 100% Hive Power to help me grow my account faster and enjoy higher curation rewards. I started this yesterday and will continue doing this.
