You can be suffering from a problem, let's say a disease and beside you is the solution but because you are ignorant of the fact that the answer is close, you can die of that problem. What killed you is not the disease neither the problem but ignorance. Some adage posited that ignorance is a disease. In some cases, it is actually more than a disease. A disease is defined and most diseases has specific solution but lack of knowledge of a situation is worse. A journey of one day can take a year by an ignorant person who lacked the wherewithal. This post became necessary as a result of an incident I witnessed recently. A pregnant woman died because she couldn't give birth normally. She died after a third pregnancy suffering same challenge before she finally died. She would have survived perhaps if cesarean section was carried but they were simply ignorant of such things as simple villagers. A lot of preventable deaths occurred especially in rural areas simply because they were ignorant of solutions to their problems. You are ignorant not just because you don't know but you refuse to find out, you refuse to seek another way out

WHAT IGNORANCE CAN CAUSE
Lack of knowledge or ignorance can make a man look stupid even with his wealth or other of his limited abilities. Ignorance can cause you time, resources and in extreme cases can lead to death even faster than expected. The following cases are results of ignorance;
a. Wrong use of medication. When you don't know a thing your approach to it is fundamentally faulty. It is ignorance that makes a man feeling headache to take 4 tablets of paracetamol at ago instead of the prescribed dose. He does that feeling the more tablets he takes the faster he gets relief with zero knowledge of the adverse effect of taking more. Ignorance makes a man take wrong medication for wrong ailments. The end is faster death than healing.
Ignorance kills faster. It is ignorance that made a man with HIV positive to die faster because he is not aware of retroviral drugs that he can take and continue to live Normal and healthy. He feels he is dying any moment and the thought alone prevent him from looking for solution. Then he dies faster than he should ordinarily.
THE NEED TO KNOW
There is the need to be aware of at least the current happenings around us. The need to know certain things in order to avoid unnecessary pains, loss and unnecessary death. What it means is that each time you find yourself in a fix. When you are down with a disease or any difficult situation, don't lose hope seek for answer and make sure you exhaust all avenues. Explore every means to get solutions. Bear in mind that all problems have solutions, it is only ignorance that limits a man. Ask to know, seek and you will find.
