Last week, I went to visit Kalaw town, which is located in Southern Shan State, Myanmar. It is a peaceful quiet hill resort town especially nice to visit during summer because of its cool weather and green environment and pine trees surrounding the town.
In Myanmar, Rainy season starts around in July with the Monsoon bringing rains from the sea. However, before July, we started seeing some rains brought about by some storms from Adaman Sea. With the humid and cool weather, my family and I travelled to Kalaw and stayed there for one night. There, instead of staying at a hotel room, we decided to stay at a cabin cottage on a nearby hill, which is about 10 minutes drive from the town. There, the place was quiet with a nearby pine forest. And there were three cottages available for rental. We had already booked for one night so, we just checked in there in the afternoon.
The cottage was small but it was designed and built to accommodate four people. We were all provided with all the facilities for cooking - with some rice to prepare meals for ourselves. What I love most is all the facilities just fit our needs; it was kind of reflecting of a minimalist life. Below are some of the photos taken there.

The items from the living and dining room were cute. There are also some books for reading at leisure time.
The toilet is a compact one with the bathroom attached.
The upper storey was spacious enough for two big beds and a carpet for sitting and lying around. All the windows and doors had mosquito net cover, which was very convenient for all of us. We were provided with air cooler and heater for winter and summer time.

The place we stayed in Kalaw one night is called Kalaw 225 Vacation home. It is a quiet and peaceful place near a pine forest - a nice place for walking along forest routes and for hiking. It is a quiet place for those who want to stay away from busy city life for a while.
