Around 2,700 people enjoying a beautiful Sunday stroll along Queensland beaches, or a dip in the water, were stung by a swarm of Bluebottle jellyfish.
The Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast of Queensland have never experienced such an epidemic before, with thousands of Bluebottles washing up on the shores, stepping on or touching the stingers will bring immediate pain.
Surf Life Saving Queensland said that immediate First Aid is to be applied if stung; remove stingers, take a very hot shower and apply ice. The pain can be extreme and some stings led to anaphylactic shock.
Hab 3:5 Before him goeth the pestilence, and fiery bolts go forth at His feet.
