Decipher That Guilt! Trust Your Advocate And Not Your Accuser
Have you done something this past week that was against the Lord's principle and then hear that stubborn little voice in your head saying "God has passed his judgement already, you are condemned already, there's absolutely no point in even asking for forgiveness"... This voice is nothing more than "satan's guilt" trying to draw you farther from God.
Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Romans 8:33 NKJV
While God's guilt will normally bring enough regret to change us, satan's guilt does nothing more than bring enough regret to enslave us. Is this the voice you want to listen to? Being in slavery for the longest time in your life? Don't let him have his way! Don't let the devil lock his shackles on you! Free your mind and clear yourself of these accusations.
For observe this very thing, that you sorrowed in a godly manner: What diligence it produced in you, what clearing of yourselves, what indignation, what fear, what vehement desire, what zeal, what vindication! In all things you proved yourselves to be clear in this matter. 2 Corinthians 7:11 NKJV
Not all guilt is bad. God's guilt is to alert us for our wrong doings and call for total repentance. This is a good thing as it will draw us closer to him and secure the salvation of our souls.
Any guilt that causes longing, concern, readiness to see change or justice is a God-given guilt and you should embrace it but not dwell on it for too long. Dwelling on this guilt for too long could make one start and indulge in the blame game and gradually one finds themselves slowly drifting towards the "satan's guilt", the very first thing we were trying to avoid initially.
Instead one should take the necessary steps of repentance. God is always ready and available to forgive us, just like the woman in John 8:10-11
Thank you for reading and I hope you have a lovely Sunday.
