We got our $2,400 of helicopter money direct deposited a few weeks ago. Huge international banks and hedge funds got access to an ongoing firehouse of trillions care of the Federal Reserve. In most cases, Jane Sixpack and spouse each get a one-time dribble of $1,200 unless their income is too high in which case they might get nothing. Oddly enough, the banks and hedge funds have no such too high restrictions and their helicopter money has no one-time limitations.
Predictably, Drumpf saw this as an opportunity to toot his own horn, so today we, along with millions of others, got a letter on the black and white for peasants only version of White House stationery. Yeah, we didn’t get the gold embossed version:
Maybe it’s too much to ask, but I’d like to think that if the White House was planning on sending out millions of letters at not insignificant cost, they might have had somebody proofread them:
What’s with the weird spacing in the payment sentence? Do they not have anybody on staff who knows how to format a Microsoft Word mail merge?
Okay, so I’m not only a nerd, I’m a type nerd. With more than three decades of working in environments related to electronic and print production, graphic design, and typography going back to Linotronic days. So those three hyphens baffle me. One hyphen is often (incorrectly) used in place of an en-dash, and two hyphens are often used (by noobs) in place of an em-dash, but three hyphens? No such beast exists.
Yeah, I gotta get a life.
