The surest way to ensure that one is forever a slave to the system, is become reliant on handouts from the government.

I do wonder what might happen in the not-distant future if robots and A.I. render millions of jobs redundant. Retraining would probably be realistic for only a small percentage of those let go. Governments are very likely to opt for some version of UBI as a stopgap measure, but that’s probably not sustainable in the long run. Hive and potentially other blockchain staking solutions offer a different path, but how many would avail themselves of such options. Many would be tempted to simply sell their stake. Unless maybe some version of UBI linked to lengthy powerdowns? Get people used to the idea of ownership as a source of income?
