Pentagon Rattled by List of ‘Woke’ Officers

Military leaders are rattled by a list of ‘woke’ senior officers that a conservative group urged Pete Hegseth to dismiss for promoting diversity in the ranks if he is confirmed to lead the Pentagon.
The list compiled by the American Accountability Foundation includes 20 general officers or senior admirals and a disproportionate number of female officers. It has had a chilling effect on the Pentagon’s often frank discussions as leaders try to figure out how to address the potential firings and diversity issues under President-elect Donald Trump.

Trump Agenda Rides on House Republicans Showing Up

Congressional Republicans’ ability to deliver President-elect Donald Trump’s ambitious agenda could well hinge on whether lawmakers can make it to work on time.
House Republicans will begin the 119th Congress with one of the smallest majorities in history, meaning they can’t afford more than a handful of absences to pass legislation if Democrats are united in opposition. Democrats, who face a Republican trifecta in government, will have a chance to block parts of the GOP agenda—but only if they too can get all of their members to Washington for the crucial votes.

All-in on Tariffs?

If any CEOs were hoping Trump would back away from his promised tariffs, this interview would have put an end to that. Trump insists that tariffs are “beautiful,” that they’ll make America rich, cost Americans nothing and he’s claimed, absurdly, that he’s “stopped wars with tariffs.”

Assad Flees Syria

President Bashar al-Assad has resigned and left Syria, Russia’s foreign ministry said on Sunday, hours after rebels stormed the Syrian capital without encountering any significant resistance from government forces.

Huh. A week or so ago there were tons of stories about Assad and his extended family having flown to Moscow. I for one didn’t see any follow-up stories saying he or they had returned to Syria.
