Trump Proposes $10B Middle East Infrastructure Project

Under the initiative—called Partnership for Allied Trust and Construction, or Pact—the U.S. would then seek a matching $5 billion contribution from eight Middle Eastern partners to help countries in the region rebuild energy infrastructure battered in the Iran war.
The plain aims to reduce the region’s reliance on the Strait of Hormuz to transport oil and gas. It’s unclear when, or even if, other countries will sign on.

Beshear Still Has Concerns About McConnell

Far too little, and far too late. Beshear had been a rising star among both centrist and progressive Democrats and was a something of a contender for the presidency in 2028 but he really dropped the ball with McConnell. He should have demanded proof of life months ago and scheduled a special election if none had been forthcoming.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is erasing immigrants with final deportation orders from a searchable online database, leaving families and attorneys in the dark as they try to find out where someone has been taken.
The new policy also bars immigration officers from sharing information about a detainee’s location with their attorneys or relatives by phone.
