Today i want to share a few snaps and details of am amazing plant Henna plant
There are many henna plants growing well in our locality. Earlier i didn't know that these plants are henna plants, the same henna or mehandi which we keep using as a dye time to time. So one day I asked my friend and she told that they are henna plants. These plants look like shrubs, and they are not too big, and they are multibranched.
One plant is just close to my house, and i clicked a few pics of it to share with you all.
Some facts about Henna plant
~ Scientific name of this plant is Lawsonia Inermis.
~ People know it by various names in different regions, such as The Mignotte tree, the Henna, or Hina, the Egyptian Privet.
~ Henna means "blessed" In Arabic and belongs to family Lythraceae.
~ This plant is native to Africa Asia and Northern Australia in semi arid zones. It grow well in warm temperatures, cold temperatures doesn't suit it. Source
Uses of Henna plant
As I already told, this plant is a source of dye that is used to color hairs skin(hands and feet) and sometimes fabric too.
Henna is a major part of various celebrations in Hindu culture. At the time of marriage, birth, engagement ceremonies, and all the festival, hands are colored with henna dye. It is mandatory custom in North India for brides to decorate their hands and feet with henna,as the Red color of Henna is considered to be very auspicious for married life.
