Many times I hear people talking about how they were robbed by fraudsters who claim to have what they don't really have. Many say they were deceived,others says the fraudsters had blackmagic, and others say they use words that are convincing and believable.
When I meet someone who have been robbed by fraudsters I always wondered what they could have said that might be so convincing that would make them give away their belongings and even go in search for more.
On a faithful Saturday (March 24, 2018),my curiosity was made to rest. This was because I came in contact with some fraudsters.
It was like 2pm in the afternoon, and I was heading home from work. I was standing by the road side looking for a vehicle to take me home. As I was waiting and waving for a vehicle to stop,suddenly a car just parked in front of me, I didn't even wave at the vehicle to stop. But not withstanding I entered.
There were 4 passengers inside the vehicle, the driver, a passenger at the front seat and two at the back. The passenger in front was a lady. So as we were going the following conversation ensued :
Driver: Mr man (talking to one of the passengers in the back), so what did you say is in that your bag.
Passenger: Sir, I told you it's just books
Driver: Do you think am a baby, or do you want me to call the cops.
Passenger : No sir, please sir, OK I tell the truth sir. It's not books its money, its a long story sir.
Driver: You better start talking now or you are in trouble
Passenger : The money is for my master, yesterday I was taking him to the bank. Suddenly two men attacked us and shot him I ran off.,i was scared but I summon the courage to check the briefcase with him, and I saw that it was a huge amount of money, I took it and ran to this state.
Driver: So you mean nobody saw you in this journey.
Passenger : No sir.
(All the while the conversation was going on, I was just trying to get my head around it. I was just surprised but I didn't try to participate.)
Driver: So this money as it is now is a blood money, so you know that.?
Passenger : yes sir.
Driver: how much is it?
Passenger: its 10 million sir.
Driver: OK since we are all here and have been part of your story I believe it has made us part of your story. So we all are going together now to a place where we can cleanse the money and share it 2 million amongst us.
(the other two passengers agreed instantly without any hustle, then I suspected something fishy. It all done on me how a friend had told me something like this that had happened, although I really wanted to get to the root of the whole story but I believed it would be wise to just walk away)
Me: Please stop me, I am coming down here.
Driver : didn't you hear what I said, or don't you want to be part of this, think about the things you could buy with two million.
Me: thank you sir but am not interested
Passenger 2:Let him go he don't like good things.
Me: (the more they try to convince me, the less convinced I was) please drop me now.
(The driver parked the car and I came down and they drove of)
