A place where bathing washes away every sin "Har Ki Pauri"

I hope you all have fun. I am also having fun. Today's post is different from all my other posts. You must have guessed from the title of Pari post that this post will be about spirituality and Hindu culture. Today's post is about the evening time of Har Ki Pauri, one of the holiest places in India. Har Ki Pauri is a ghat on the river Ganga. In the scriptures, it is said that bathing here is very important. By taking bath here, all the sins done knowingly or unknowingly in life are burnt. So people from all over India come to take bath at Har Ki Pauri Ghat. Har Ki Pauri is located in Haridwar, Uttarakhand state of India. The river Ganga passes through Haridwar and there are many ghats on the banks of the river Ganga. But in the scriptures, Har Ki Pauri is the most sacred form of all these forms in human beings. Bathing in Gangaji at Har ki Pauri Ghat, the fruit of which LT GJ does not take place. In today's post, I want to give you a glimpse of Har Ki Pauri.

It is said that Lord Vishnu resides on Har Ki Pauri. Footprints of Lord Vishnu are also left on Har Ki Pauri. The main aarti of Gangaji is also performed here i.e. on Har Ki Pauri. When the sun sets, the devotees immediately take a bath and gather for the darshan of Ganga Aarti. We reached Haridwar around 4 pm. Immediately after reaching we reached Har Ki Pauri where we bathed in Gangaji for about 1 hour and then we took advantage of Ganga Aarti. While performing Ganga Aarti, we realized that spiritual peace is truly experienced here.

The day we went to perform Ganga Aarti was neither a holiday nor a festival. It was a day like any other day. The main thing is that the boy did not even have a vacation in school. Even so, thousands of people reached Har Ki Pauri to take advantage of bathing and Ganga Aarti. As you can see in the photograph, thousands of people have gathered around the ghat and are waiting for the Ganga Aarti to begin. If there is a presence of such a large number of Hari devotees, it can be guessed that how sacred Har Ki Pauri will be.

As you go to the heights between the mountains, the mountains are visible as far as the eye can see, so on Har Ki Pauri, Hari devotees can be seen as far as the eye can see. Aarti is performed by priests on Har Ki Pauri. All these priests stand on platforms facing the river. Passing them are large stand hots for lighting lamps in which a large number of lamps are lit. While waving these divas in a circular motion various rituals are performed including burning of fire, incense and chanting of mantras. In this they offer incense to Gangaji and also light lamps. Along with this, Gangaji's aarti is also sung throughout the ceremony. Loudspeakers are also installed for this aarti in which Ganga aarti is sung.

Ganga Aarti at Haridwar is a mesmerizing ritual. That's why I say the ritual is the worship of Gangaji. Every action that takes place in Pujan takes place in Aarti. This aarti takes place every evening at the Har Ki Pauri Ghat on the banks of the Ganga River. I asked many people that this aarti was performed even during the time of corona or when it was lockdown. The difference was that Haribhakta would not have been present at that time. Numerous visitors and devotees from all over the world come here to take advantage of Ganga Aarti on Har Ki Pauri as can be seen in the photograph above.

Pitru Tarpan is also done in Gangaji. People from all over the world come to Gangaji to offer pitru. According to Hindu scriptures, after death, if the cremation and rituals are performed on the banks of the Ganges, the soul of the deceased will find peace. In the above photograph it can be seen that a family is worshiping Gangaji. It is not that Brahmins do aarti or worship of Gangaji so people also worship Gangaji. The Brahmins here also worship the devotees from outside. In return, the host gives Yathashakti to the Brahmin. Even in this way, the livelihood of the Pandits here is going on.

Gangaji is very big. And at the same time the ghat of Gangaji is also huge. The Har Ki Peri Ghat has been systematically divided into 2 parts by the government. So that the devotees who come to bathe here do not face any problem. The flow of Ganga is very high here. If you are not careful, there is a possibility that you will get stuck in the water. This is a photograph of Gangaji from the other side. Many foot bridges have been built over the Gangaji. The beauty of Gangaji can be enjoyed from the bridge.

The name of the tower seen in the above photograph is Birla Tower. This Birla Tower has no mythology but because of Har Ki Peri this ghat has been kept like this. This tower has been designed by Aditya Birla Broup. A huge clock is also installed on the top of this tower. There is also a way to go up the tower. But that road has been closed.

A large number of people are present during Gangaji's aarti. Due to the presence of such a large number of people, it is often not possible for the people who come last to get the benefit of the crowd aarti. Therefore, large LED displays have been placed at Sarkar Dwar Ghat. At the time of Aarti, this display is turned on and the benefit of the darshan of Aarti can be taken through the display. Similarly, the age limit for sitting on the ferry has also been made. That during the Aarti, sit in the steps and watch the Aarti. Due to the steps, Aarti can be seen very well.

Gangaji Aarti is a way for devotees to worship the holy river Gangaji. Worshiping a sacred object in Hinduism has spiritual significance. People also say that by participating in Gangaji's aarti, one's sins are burnt. The atmosphere during Gangaji's aarti is very upbeat and full of positive energy. The aroma of incense creates a truly mesmerizing atmosphere during the time of aarti.

For a Haribhakta, attending Gangaji's aarti is not only a religious experience, but also a glimpse of our culture. A glimpse of Hindu tradition is seen in Gangaji's aarti. The respect and devotion people have towards Gangaji is also seen. Let me end my post here with just this.
